This is an original high quality Rosewood dining table made by Skovmand & Andersen in Denmark in the 60s.
It was bought in Denmark and was in the same home for almost 60 years. There is a Skovmand & Andersen original brand label on the underside.
The Danish extending dining table has a beautiful rosewood grain and it's a square table at its smallest with softly rounded corners.
When extended once it's a rectangle and the table has two additional extension panels/leafs which allow great flexibility by giving you three different dining table sizes.
It can extend from a square table with rounded corners to a large rectangle table of over 2 meters long. The extension panels/leafs each measure 114cm x 50cm enabling the following table sizes:
A) 114 cm x 114 cm
B) 114 cm x 164 cm
C) 114 cm x 214 cm
The table legs unscrew for easy storage / transportation and the extending mechanism is in perfect working order and moves fluidly. The legs were sent to a restorer to be colour matched (some were sun bleached).
The Rosewood veneer on the additional extending panels are perfectly matched with the rest of the table so it looks perfect when extended there is no variation as you can see from the photos. The table It is in beautiful vintage condition with the usual signs of wear and tear given its age.
Condition:
Each leg has been professionally restored (there was colour fading / sun damage when I received them).
There are some tiny marks (two) on the entire tabletop, it has fared very well from the 60's. One is a small surface scratch about 2 cm long and the other a small crack of about the same length.
