At the time of listing I couldn't find this sideboard available for sale anywhere else in Australia, it's a rare one and a collector's piece even by UK standards.
This is a Robert Heritage Hamilton Rosewood & Teak Sideboard By Archie Shine Circa 1950s.
This is an elegant Danish style design with a long rectangular top over four reeded drawers with two cupboards, having Rosewood veneer doors and raised on four narrow tapered legs.
Archie Shine pieces were mainly sold through exclusive high end retailers like Harrods of London and Heals.
Robert Heritage was one of the top British furniture furniture designers of the mid 20th century . His collaboration with the high end maker Archie Shine carried on for many years , but he also designed pieces for many other less expensive British makers from the mid 1950s until well into the 1970s as well as being a highly influential lecturer and professor of furniture design .
Photos taken outside don't allow for any area to 'hide' - I have taken some closer images indoors as the sideboard is a beautiful deep colour more indicative of walnut or rosewood.
Condition:
The sideboard was purchased in already excellent condition from its original owner, so all that was needed was a deep clean and re-oil.
There is some damage to the cutlery drawer in that some of the felt has come away and is loose. Some choose to remove this divider and use as a regular top drawer yet for authenticity I've left it in for the buyer to decide.
