This is a gorgeous classic piece of British mid century furniture, the Ercol 355 studio sofa daybed with a dark walnut finish. 
 
I will have a few of these English Ercol's in the container to Sydney from London, this one is a walnut stain and makes a versatile addition to your home with its steam bent frame with tapered spindles and arched arm rests.
 
The backrest is removable so you may enjoy the vintage daybed with or without the back support. Traditionally, these were sold with back and arm cushions which are extremely upright.
 
For a more relaxed sit I'd recommend back cushions (large fluffy ones) so that you can also show off the stunning backboard.
 
The cushioning is firm and a lovely purple colour with matted wool fabric and the webbing is new. Covers are fairly easily made if you'd like a different coloured fabric.
 
These Ercol daybeds are difficult to find in Australia, the other one I have available is a blonde wood.
 
Condition:
The beech frame was originally walnut stained, it has been restored so that worn areas are touched up.
 
The webbing is new and the foam is firm with a purple woollen cover in very good condition.
