Here's the first of hopefully a few 1960's Ercol studio sofa daybeds that will be available for sale in Sydney, Australia. 
 
The sofa is arguably the most famous that Ercol designed and produced in England and is still very sought after today. Please bear in mind that this is an Ercol studio sofa 355 day bed with an Ercol single bed headboard as the backboard. 
 
The frame is a lovely blonde wood and has the blue Ercol sticker which indicates the 1960s range (gold stickers were later). 
 
The backboard can be taken off very easily via a butterfly screw if you wish, although personally I think it's the best feature! 
 
The sofa comes with new webbing, upholstery and foam - the fabric is a navy midnight blue chenille draylon velvet type material. 
 
There are three brand new cushions in Orla Kiely fabric which are included. The beauty of using back cushions vs the foam backrests, is that with cushions you can enjoy a more relaxed and 'sunken in' sit, the back cushions that are usually custom made with these studio sofas force you to sit very upright. Plus, they hide the beautiful backboard.
